It was a Merry Christmas!!

Hello everyone! I had a great Christmas yesterday. Santa was very good to me. (Although he did NOT leave a trampoline but I forgive him, that wouldn't really fit in a sleigh) He did leave me some other tasty treats!!

A chubby little squeaky reindeer!

PIG EARS!

3 New Squeaky Tenny Balls!!

This is my favorite! It's an Orbee Football. Smells minty!

I hope everyone else had a great holiday!!!
Best wishes to everyone for the new year!

It's Christmas Eve Eve!

So last weekend we celebrated Christmas with my Grandparents and I had tons of fun. I didn't get to play too much with Max & Shoogie because it was so bitterly cold out and I just kept wanting to come back inside and snuggle with my Grandma and wrestle with my Grandpa. He kept hog-tying me, that little rascal. I'll get him back one day. I'm going to pee on his shoe when he's not looking! Ha! That'll teach him!

Santa wrote me back!!!!

You may need to click on it so that it opens bigger and you can read it.

It's coming up fast

My parents are running around in a flurry of boxes and phone calls and trash bags. Sometimes they stop, take a moment, look at me and say "whant whant whant YARD whant whant." THEY look excited so I get excited. Then they pet me vigorously and continue packing. Only 11 more days to go until I get this YARD thing. It must be a late Christmas present. It'd better be good for all this fuss they're going through. I haven't been getting much attention lately.

I'm helping, again!

Amongst the packing, the shopping, the gift wrapping and the regular household duties, my SuperMamma is making another blanket for a friend for Christmas.

Here I am trying to help.
I was going to hold the fabric straight so she could cut it and keep it warm at the same time.

After yelling and trying to get me to lay somewhere else she made me a little scarf with the extra fabric. So stylish!!

Blast from the past....camping!

This was my very first camping trip. (Well, my only. We didn't get to go this year) I was only 3 months old and very teeny. This was back in September 2007.

This was my favorite thing to do while there. Whenever someone got up from their chair around the fire I jumped up there and took their spot. It was sooo cozy! It only folded in on me once.

I loved exploring everything new; the dirt, the water, the campfire, being outside. I loved it and I really hope we can go next year!!

Back to the crate for me....

Mom got the lights and ornaments on the tree last night and told me that she trusted me when she left for work today. I let her down... I ate some of the hanging toys. I couldn't help it. That wooden snowman looked so tasty. I got yelled at and I heard them talking about putting me back in the crate until the tree comes down. Oh well, at least its only for a few weeks.

Long, lost brother??

My mom wants to get me a playmate, another boxer buddy but my Dad is dead-set against it. So she begs, he says no, she pouts and it goes on and on....

Today, while scouring the humane society pages looking at doggies she could rescue (she doesn't give up), Mom found a boxer at the local humane society. He's around my age and looks just like me (except for the tail).

Mom asked of course, but the answer was still no. I want a playmate so I hope Dad gives in eventually. Good luck, Radar! I hope you find a happy forever home, too bad it couldn't be mine.

Why is every news story about a boxer sad news???

TAMPA -- A dog that was nearly starved to death is getting a second chance at life.

His name is Casper, which seems appropriate for a dog that's a mere ghost of what he should be. "He has pretty much no muscles left. He's just a rack of bones, and he's one of the worst dogs I've ever seen," said Dr. Isabelle Roese, head veterinarian of Hillsborough County Animal Services.

Roese says they think Casper is a boxer that should weigh 55 to 60 pounds. But right now he weighs less than half that. He also has terrible sores all over his body from a skin condition Dr. Roese says could have been easily treated before it got as bad as it did.

They're trying to limit how much they touch him because it's so painful for him. And while Casper seems to have a good appetite, it's too soon to know if his emaciated body is processing the food.

Animal abuse investigator Michele Perez says Casper could barely walk when they found him last Sunday, chained up in the backyard of a Carrollwood home. Perez said that, based on her 16 years of experience in the field, she believes Casper didn't have much time left.

"I believe it would have been just a few days and he would have been dead, if we had gotten there later."

34-year-old Wilmer Fernandez and 32-year-old Aixa Rodriguez are charged with animal cruelty and neglect. Bail was posted at $6500 each, and they bonded out.

Abuse investigator Perez says she can't get over his how she says they went about their daily lives with a dog in such bad shape right outside their patio door.

"When the family was sitting down at the dining room table to eat dinner, and if the vertical blinds weren't closed, Casper was in plain view, at all times," Perez said.

Perez is also upset that Casper was in full view of several neighbors with adjoining yards, yet no one ever called about him. A deputy working an unrelated case in the neighborhood spotted Casper and called Animal Services.

Thursday, Perez transported Casper and two of the other four dogs seized Sunday to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Executive Director Sherry Silk said Casper will get intensive veterinary care, including a special diet and antibiotics for his skin. Once he's stabilized, they'll move him to longterm foster care.

While he's not out of the woods yet, they're all hoping Casper will eventually be well enough to be adopted.

"What I hope for Casper...is to end up in a good, loving home with people that will appreciate him for who he is. He has a right to a second chance," Perez said.

Get better soon, Casper. xoxoxo. ~*~Mya~*~

The tree is intact!

My friend Brad (soon to be roommate) came over yesterday and stayed the night. He had some "job thing" to do today. He let me out to pee before he left this morning and when the parents came home I hadn't eaten the tree!! Of course there's still no lights or hanging toys on it yet so as soon as Mom finds those darn lights she'll be nervous all day all over again.

Boxer eats plastic, ends up sick as a dog

FRAMINGHAM — Eden, a 12-month-old boxer, got into the holiday spirit, and then into trouble, recently by checking for goodies inside bags on her owner's kitchen counter.

The boxer, known for counter surfing, had help with the caper from her two littermates.

"The male boxers, taller than females, brushed the counter contents onto the floor and then they all had a party," said Bill Lannon of Uxbridge.

But the hijinks ended badly when Eden ate something she shouldn't have unbeknownst to her owners, Bill and Janice Lannon.

Two days before Thanksgiving, Eden began to get sick. She wouldn't eat and had lost 8 pounds by the time she was taken for exploratory surgery yesterday at Slade Veterinary Hospital in Framingham.

Veterinarians Marianne Martin and Anita Migday, owner of the hospital, operated on the pup and found the culprit behind her weight loss - about a quarter-pound of plastic bags.

Bill Lannon is not certain what attracted Eden to the plastic bags.

"Boxers eat anything, including hats and leftover food - that's a given," said Lannon. "Believe it or not, the blockage (from the bags) is the best of the options. If not the blockage, it would have been a disease. It's better than the alternatives. I'm pretty happy and thankful to have Eden back.

"We call Eden, 'the one.' She was the best one in the litter - with the highest expectations for her ability to be a champion in the show ring," said Lannon.

"We kept three out of the same litter and highly recommend not doing that," said Lannon, who breeds dogs. "One-year-old boxers are a bundle of energy, into everything and always challenging. When they hit 3, they settle down. Until then, they run and get into everything and we have three at the same age. It's like having triplets."

Injuries

While at my Grandparents house last week I got a little beat up.

I sliced open my paw and got bit in the butt!! I didn't care, I was having fun!

Mom says I didn't know better than to mess with Max while he was chomping on a hambone. He didn't mean to hurt me he was just trying to keep me away from his bone and I just wanted to play.

Moms getting nervous again

I helped her put up the tree today. No lights or hanging toys yet. I heard her talking to Dad about not trusting me all day out of the crate with the tree up. I think they're going to give it a shot though. I'd better be good. I've gotten used to sleeping on the couch all day and zooming around the house without getting yelled at. I hope they give me a chance!!

Ski Jacket & SNOW!!!

Georgia gave me her ski jacket that doesn't fit her anymore. It has a fuzzy hood; I love it! Thanks, Georgia!!

Today it snowed a little and Mom let me play outside for a while.
My favorite thing to do is eat it!!!

Busy, Busy, Busy....And A Christmas Flashback!

Mom and Dad have been running around packing boxes upon boxes lately. We move into our new house at the end of this month. They're really excited and keep talking about this "yard" thing. I can't wait to see what that means.

I think Moms putting that tree thing up this week. She says she'll manage to fit it in somewhere amongst the boxes. Mom's going to take another picture of me by that tree to see how big I'm getting. Here's last years pic....
